Policy Statement
SelfDesign Learning Foundation (SDLF) is committed to following all guidelines issued by governing and regulatory authorities during a pandemic to minimize exposure and protect health and safety.
Definitions
Pandemic – an outbreak of any disease on a large, global scale (as and when declared by the provincial health authorities).
Pandemic Response Team – a temporary group that is formed to create and implement a pandemic response plan. Once implementation is complete, this team will meet if further problems or risks present themselves.
Pandemic Response Plan – a plan that sets out protocols and procedures, as well as the training and education for those using the protocols and procedures, to ensure that environments in which SDLF operates are as safe as they can be. This type of plan addresses the unique situations that SDLF faces by applying risk assessment tools as well as guidance from the provincial health officer, the Ministry of Education and Child Care, and WorkSafeBC to create a tailored plan for safety. In addition, the plan establishes parameters for disbanding the response team and formally concluding the pandemic response once it is no longer required.
Policy
SelfDesign Learning Foundation will, in the event of a pandemic, form a pandemic response team and create and implement a pandemic response plan to ensure the protection of health and safety.
