Policy Statement

SelfDesign Learning Foundation (SDLF) is committed to providing environments that promote safety and wellness and, therefore, is committed to the prohibition of possession, distribution or sale, and use of alcohol, controlled substances, and other substances that may cause impairment at SDLF functions both online and at physical locations.

Definitions

Controlled Substance – generally a drug or chemical whose manufacture, possession, sale, or use is regulated by the government (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, 1996), but may be dispensed under a physician’s prescription. This may include illegal drugs and prescription medications when not prescribed by a licensed medical professional.

Policy

SelfDesign Learning Foundation will not allow/prohibit the possession, distribution or sale, and use of alcohol, controlled substances, and other substances that may cause impairment at SDLF functions both online and at physical locations.

However, limited exceptions to permit the responsible use of alcohol, at specified social functions, may be granted by the President and CEO or Board of Directors.

Protocol

An individual(s) found in possession of, distributing or selling, or using alcohol, controlled substances, and other substances that may cause impairment at SDLF functions both online and at physical locations will be asked to leave the function immediately.
